Our Philosophy

At GSW, we believe in constant collaboration and open communication while operating within a highly fluid work process. To increase efficiencies early on, we establish roles and responsibilities up front, determine the main points of contact for each party, and agree on a schedule that includes milestone deliverable dates and review and approval dates, which provides the template for each phase moving forward. Our team will engage and collaborate with your key stakeholders through a series of meetings to identify the specific needs of the project. Our strategic planning process is based on our experience working with municipalities and other governmental agencies on facility master plans across the country.

Meet Our Team

Mende Feriend

President

Mende has over twenty five years of experience in Architecture, Space Planning, Construction and Human Resources. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University holding a Bachelor of Environmental Design (Architecture). Having built and sold two other profitable woman-owned companies, Mende now uses her entrepreneurial and human resource expertise combined with her background in construction to oversee the daily operations of the company.

David Daffan

Vice President

Leading our Government Contract division, David has helped to successfully grow this division into an elite status with the government. He has also led hundreds of private, federal and local government-related projects across the United States and Puerto Rico. David has utilized being a Master Electrician and his knowledge of the industry to help lead our team and transform the legacy of JRJ in this arena.

Lyn Daffan

Project Coordinator

With over 35 years of rich experience in the construction industry, Lyn Daffan, affectionately known as Sherry Lyn, embodies unwavering dedication and expertise. Since joining Joe R Jones Construction in 2001, Lyn has been instrumental in the administrative facets of construction, adeptly managing job setups, bonds, contracts, invoicing, and more. Possessing certifications in Word and Excel, Lyn thrives in her role as a support pillar, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to the seamless execution of projects, a testament to her enduring commitment to excellence.

Christina Allen

Project Administrative Assistant

Embracing a dynamic role within JRJ for the past 2 years, Christina Allen brings fresh enthusiasm to the construction domain. As a project administrative assistant specializing in the FAA division, Christina diligently supports Project Managers and Superintendents, seamlessly handling tasks ranging from submittals to daily administrative duties. Her eagerness to learn and adapt underscores her dedication to mastering the intricacies of FAA operations, making her an invaluable asset to the team.

Tom Allen

Project Manager

Tom has been involved in construction for over twenty years and has learned this business from many advantage points. His experience is key to all the work we do in the FAA, Government and NAVAID division of our company. Tom brings a great calm into all that he is a part of. He is organized and efficient as he manages jobs across the country.

Kevin Olivare

Project Manager

Armed with 21 years of construction experience, Kevin Olivarez's journey began at the age of 16, evolving through service in the US Navy with distinction in Naval Mobile Construction Battalions 5 and 22. Since transitioning from the field to the office in 2016, Kevin has excelled in project management, safety, and estimation. As an OSHA Authorized trainer for Construction 10 & 30, Kevin brings invaluable expertise to the table. Currently serving as an assistant PM in the FAA division, Kevin collaborates closely with industry veterans, sharing operational management duties with Tom Allen and contributing significantly to FAA bidding alongside David Daffan.
